In this short training, I want to share with you the power of revenue attribution with Instant. Revenue attribution allows you to track and analyze the effectiveness of your marketing efforts by understanding which channels are generating leads and converting them into actual revenue.
With Instant, setting up revenue attribution is super easy and can provide valuable insights into your marketing strategy. So let's dive in and explore how to do it.
To set up revenue attribution in Instant, you need to connect it to Zapier. If you've already connected Instant to your email platform, you may be familiar with this process. Simply head into your Zapier account and create a new Zap.
There are two things you can set up with Zapier for revenue attribution. The first is when an opportunity is created, and the second is when revenue is generated. You can choose the option that best suits your needs and CRM integration.
Opportunity Attribution
For example, if you choose to set up when an opportunity is created, you'll select your CRM platform (e.g., HubSpot) and choose the trigger "New Deal." This step may vary based on your CRM, but the objective is to capture the creation of a new opportunity.
Once you have set up the trigger, you'll select Instant as the action. In the event, you'll choose "Log Opportunity." Here, you'll enter the email address associated with the opportunity and the pipeline value. Instant will then attribute the lead magnet through which the opportunity was generated and provide you with a clean report on the pipeline generated and its source.
Revenue Attribution
Similarly, if you want to track revenue generated, you can set up a second Zap. For this example, let's say we choose Stripe as the platform and select the trigger "New Payment" (you can adapt this based on your own payment system). In the Instant action, choose "Log Revenue." Enter the email associated with the payment and the revenue amount. Instant will attribute the revenue to the appropriate lead magnet and provide you with insights on your conversions and revenue generation.
In Conclusion
By setting up these Zaps, every time an opportunity is created or revenue is generated, Instant will capture the data and attribute it accordingly. This allows you to have a complete and accurate understanding of where your leads are coming from, how many opportunities are converting to pipeline, and how much revenue is being generated.
This information is invaluable for making data-driven decisions. For example, if you notice that LinkedIn is performing exceptionally well in terms of generating quality revenue, you may want to consider increasing your budget for that specific channel.
