When businesses want to grab people's attention and generate quality leads, there are three different types of Lead Magnets you can create (from easiest to hardest):
- 10-Point Checklist: This is a basic list with ten items your ideal customer would need to do to achieve the desired result your product solves for. It's pretty simple to create, but it might take some time for people to decide if they want to purchase something based on it. This is a great place to start building your Lead Magnet.
- 5-Point Guide (a Manifesto): Think of this as a guide with 5 main ideas. It's a bit trickier to make than the checklist, but it can help convince people make a purchasing decision faster. - Video (of your Manifesto): This is the most advanced, it’s a 45-minute+ video presentation that educates your ideal customers about the problem, the solution and your product. It takes the most effort to produce, but it's the best at getting people interested, trusting you and buying from you.
In a nutshell, the simpler a lead magnet is, the more work you have to do in nurturing the lead to turn them into a customer. The more complex your lead magnet (e.g. a Manifesto or a Manifesto Video) the less work you have to do in nurturing.
